# Exmodel (Loft \> Tangent \> Direct) surface bending direction

Hello. In video tutorials, I sometimes see users changing the curvature direction of a surface when lofting between two curves. In the image I’ve attached, the inner surface connection curves correctly, but the outer connection curves in the opposite direction when the “Tangent” option is selected. I can’t figure out how to change the curvature direction of the loft.

hi I think you can take a look at this tutorial which clearly shows how to apply loft function when creating irregular curved surface.The loft function need 2D sketches of the mesh as reference to generate surfaces.When the model is well aligned, go to 2D sketch-multiple sections to create multiple 2D sketches and choose the sketches then click loft function, the software will automatically generate curves in a right direction.
