Vesa Mount for PC Monitor

I bought a monitor arm for my 2 monitors to tidy up my desk. As everything was installed and i was ready to fasten the monitors, i realized that they don’t have a vesa mount!
Are you serious Samsung??? WTF? Why are there monitors without Vesa?

But, wait, I am some sort of tech nerd owning mostly everything - soooooo…

Pull out my Einstar Vega and scan the back part of my monitor, because sure not will it be a flat plane, haha!

Here is my monitor prepared for removing the stand:

The first scan was really tricky but went right at the first try:

Unfortunately the scanned area was to small so i did it again with the help of some bluetape:

That turned out amazing! No spray, nothing just the bluetape for the border and some loose bits to help it a bit. Sure you have to move really slow and steady but i tried it several times with a competitors device and no chance at all!

Next push it in FreeCAD and design the holder:

Next step the slicer of your choice, mine is Orca:

Upload to the printer and hit print:

Now wait some 10 hours and be granted with a nice finished product that not only holds water but also my monitor!

In my design are holes for m4 nuts to hold the bolts and i glued the holder to the back of my monitor. It is a really old one, so i decided the easy way.

Scan - CAD - Print - Repeat!

Have a nice rest of the year, and make some stuff!!!

That’s awesome! 3D scanning and printing tech obviously make your life more efficient and fun. Your DIY skills are super impressive, and we’re thrilled that EINSTAR VEGA could be a part of it! :star_struck:
