No markers in fast mode is devastating. One of the primary reasons I wanted a wireless scanner was to be able to walk around something big (which usually has fewer features for tracking), and my original Einstar was a pain with the cables.
So I’m still tethered to a bundle of cables and a laptop if I need to scan something flat with fewer features.
I dislike markers, but at least they let me get the job done. Not being able to use them at all is mind boggling.
I hope the firm and software will be heavy developed to get to a point where the vega is a mobile even better Einstar. By now it has major drawbacks.
Scanning blacks for instance is a pita.
I thought it would be a finished product…
Hi ingManiac;
Thank you for these practical feedback, we understand the importance on the ability to scanning black objects and the value on global marker, these functions will be included and improved in VEGA in the future soon
Hello Einstar,
Thanks for reaching out!
That is exactly what i expected to hear from you, thanks a lot!
And don’t get me wrong, it is an awesome pieace of technology. For instance the tracking in HD mode is amazing, the smoothnes and robustnes.
Do you have any idea when the first update is planned?
Is it planned in individual milestones or is there a frequently planned roll out every … ?
And by the way, are there some “best practices” where we can get hints how to get the best out of the scanner? Cause the main problem with the scanner will be the user, at least i bet.
Id like to add to the list.
Can we get the ability to fuse/process the point cloud to export it.
The current point cloud is unprocessrd.
So its pointlesd to export it, since any software i bring it into will mesh it into a very low quatily model.
Actually, the StarVision software can mesh the point clouds, during that step you can select the corresponding resolution. Have you tried StarVison already? Or, do you just want to export the pure clouds data?
I do not want a meshed point cloud.
I wanted a process/fused point cloud so i can import into other software.
Like the Einstar when you finished editing a point cloud. You have to optimizing and generating point cloud
From there i can take that into other software and merge that point cloud with others from different scans or scanners.
Here i can not do that. It only meshes the point cloud into a model file.
And the unprocessed point cloud is not correct
Update! We’ve add the marker alignment in v1.1.0 and support 12mm marker from, v1.2.0. For HD mode, we’ve improved its overall performance like reduce noise, enhance tracking performance with challenge surface, etc.
Global Marker function is in discussion, we will keep updating the process here!
