Einstar Vega: Feature Request

I’ve just purchased an Einstar Vega and and am getting used to it. There are few things I noticed that I feel could be cool to have.

-ability to enable LED light when not acquiring texture

-the pointclouds to not import properly in to Reality Capture, perhaps they are missing meta data or a coordinate system. Either way i could not import the pointcloud data properly. I would love to be able to combine photogrammetry and the vega point cloud, which is possible in Reality Capture, as a feature.

-i would really love to be able to connect the Vega and scan that way when needed. This is possible on the Miraco.

Hi, standarddrviation3d

1.Theoretically, scanners utilizing infrared laser technology should be able to meet scanning requirements without the need for additional lighting if we don’t need texture. You may provide specific examples of targets requiring additional lighting during no-texture scanning, and we will evaluate them and get back to you.

2.If you require high-quality textures, we will be releasing an exciting new feature in the future that will significantly enhance the texture performance of models by capture photo with VEGA’s 48MP camera . This can partially replace the use of photogrammetry while improving efficiency. If, beyond texture quality, you have other use cases where combining 3D scan point clouds with photogrammetry provides additional value, feel free to leave a message and let us know.

3.The "wired mode"request has been reviewed. We believe that a wireless, portable, and all-in-one design is a more user-friendly development direction. Our device delivers scanning performance that is just as smooth as a wired scanner connected to a computer, and we will continue to enhance it in the future. Compared to Miraco, Einstar Vega is truly a wireless, all-in-one 3D scanner. We aim to free users from the constraints of cables and environments, expanding the boundaries of 3D applications.

Thank you so much for the reply! I guess for the ligh enabled without texture, i was assuming it would be helpful for dark crevices. Maybe its not necessary, im new to using a scanner, my experience is primarly with photogrammetry of sculptures. Lots of dark crevices in elbows and such.

  1. I am looking forward to this update. For me the reason to combine scanning and photogrammetry is to get the camera positions. In my field, this provides cameras that are aligned with the mesh to allow for further modeling in instances where there isnt sufficient detail from the photogrammetry or scan.

  2. Totally get it, i was just assuming in wired mode there would be more processing power or higher detail capture, but maybe im also wrong on this being a scanning noob.

hey @EINSTAR just wanted to get your opinon on my response. thanks!

Hi,

For suggestion 1, the light for geometry camera and texture camera are using difference technology and algorithm, for scanning black objects in HD mode, adjust the exposure to the highest level should be sufficient, and we will continuously improving our product performance.

Suggestion 2: We believe this function will meet your requirement, it is in developing.

Suggestion 3: For processing power, the solution of VEGA is sufficient for both high-detail and large size scanning. For new product, we will have more creative solution come out, stay tuned!

looking forward to it! thanks for the response

Me too. The light would help me in dark areas also. I’ve found I’ve needed it quite a few times now.

Hi, JofArnold

We’ve receive this requirement several times, we will evaluate it!
