EXStar wants admin permission

Having trouble getting EXStar to launch
iMac / M3 / 24GB

I get an error saying “account lacks permissions. Use an admin account to run this software “ Clicking “confirm” does nothing

  1. I am in the admin space

  2. I have tried to reset permission & the block says “fetching”

  3. tried going into terminal & drag ‘n’ drop the EXStar exec file. Get the same message

  4. dragged the run exec file. Got a lot of UNIX chatter but no app

  5. dragged the preview exec and open a page with a Chinese header

What the heck is going on? How do I start this app
I do note the scanner is not attached (I wanted to get a head start before it arrived)
