Hi Guys, I have the first Einstar, I also have a new Lenovo X9 laptop with the new Intel graphics, can I use the scanner with the new graphics? On paper it should work but I can’t even open the software
Hi, we recommend reinstalling the software through the official EXStar download channel using the link below: https://support.einstar.com/en/support/solutions/articles/60000782576-einstar-software-download After installation, if it still doesn’t open, please try right-clicking the software and selecting Run as administrator to see if that works.
As far as I understand it, EXStar is only compatible with Nvidia Graphics cards as it uses a computing framework called CUDA which is an Nvidia only feature.
I’ve had this trouble too since I upgraded my PC (for non 3D scanning reasons) from an older Nvidia 2080 Ti graphics card to a new AMD RX 9070 XT. So EXStar no longer works on my main PC. It does however work on my laptop which has a Nvidia 3060 but I’m currently replacing the RAM from 16 to 32GB (maxed out) as basically every scan takes over 16GB of RAM.
I’m unsure why Einstar hasn’t mentioned this.
yeah AMD gpu do not have the CUDA framework so that the Einstar cannot compatible with it but RTX3060 is from NVIDIA series so it can work.
