Flipping a object to scan the bottom?

Hi there, pretty new, just got my scanner like a week ago and practicing with it. So far the best results are using a turntable with markers on it. But is there a way to tell the scanner I flipped the object upside down to scan the bottom that I don’t know about?

I tried putting markers on the side of the object to get it to clue in on what I’m trying to do, but no dice. I guess I could always scan the object twice and stitch them together in blender but that seems like a lot of extra work when there could be a better way.

Hi, Slimulis,

Thank you for your feedback. Our Vega tracking algorithm supports continuous scanning and alignment from different angles, even after the target is flipped. You can also adjust the DOF (Depth of Field) to avoid capturing unnecessary background data. If you can provide a description or image of the item you want to scan, we would be happy to offer more specific guide.

If you use marker mode with the markers on the turntable, then you can’t turn the object. Software by now is not that smart to know which points remained and which points are stuck to your model.
Either use markers on the model exclusively, or scan seperate and merge later on.
Correct me if i am wrong, but that was my experience in the past.
