Hello. I’m new to this forum. I just bought the Vega 3D scanner a week ago, but I’m having a problem I can’t seem to solve. When I scan an object with perfectly flat markers, like on a table for example, the markers in the scan data are misaligned and don’t reflect their actual position.
I’ve already calibrated the scanner, but nothing has improved; I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sorry to hear about this issue. Have you recalibrate the scanner? What alignment were you using? The markers pattern seems so dense and maybe you can decrease the marker numbers, just to make sure that at least 4 markers visible in the camera window.
Please send us a photo of your scanning setup. We’d like to review your method of sticking the markers and the specific scanning environment. We recommend you placing the object and the markers on a flat surface and try again. You can try both global marker and marker alignment settings:)
The HD scan mode has a range of about 100–250 mm; I’m not sure if that is considered dense.
I will try to reduce the number of markers and keep you updated.
In any case, the scanner’s data is of very good quality, but the misalignment of the inaccurate markers is bothering me.
