So, this is my first Scan.

I struggeled a litte bit because of Markers. I can Choose Marker to the object and Global Marker. I put the marker on the Table, not on the Object. Scan the Device in 3 Orientations. The markerless alignment is absolut fantastic! WOW!

What is the advantage to put Markers direct to the Object?

Hi, Druckt
Marker alignment will help you to get better accuracy when scanning medium to large objects, stick marker on the object or surround it both okay. The accessories pro kit we provide is a good tool to use.
Marker free laser scanning is our unique innovation to save more time on scanning setup and accessories cost. The accuracy in this mode is also sufficient for reverse engineering, digital archiving, etc.

Thank you for the answer. Is it better for the merging of the individual scans if markers are on the property instead of being next to the object? If so, how many and in what arrangement should the markers be on the property? I haven’t made a markerless laser scan intensively, just tried it. I still have to deal with it.

Hi,
If you mean align two scans of the same object, marker on the property is better, you can use markers to align. For each scan, you need to make sure there are at least four markers in each frame for smooth tracking. and at least three same markers between two scans are required

Thank you! do you have an example or a How To Guide for Marker Positioning on Objects?

You can find the basic skill of marker positioning in this video

Here is another video for relevant skill.

Hi!

so i make a new Scan direct on the Rigil without PC. I use the Laser Mode with GEometry. I scan a Pumpkin. i have 3 Scans. But… how can i merge this scans on the rigil device? i cannot find a option. When i export it to rigil software, i also cannot merge the scans together. Whats going wrong here?

Thank you for your help!

Hi, Current you can only merge project on EXScan Rigil software, and the projects must be included in the same projects group, if you scanned them with different group, you can save the proj. project file locally first, then import them in one group to merge them together, please notice that only projects with same resolution can be aligned.

thank you for your reply! i thought it is possible direct on the rigil device. ok. For example i want to scan a complete car, i want to use different scan modes IR / Cross Laser. so i have to use the same resolution??? for big surfaces thats crazy with a high resolution! For now i think a am free to use IR AND Laser Mode in ONE Scan. IR i think is for low resolution, and laser for high resolution? now i am a little bit confused

Aligning data from different mode or different resolution is not supported now, we will develop a partial HD function to support demand like scan a part with high resolution on big object with low resolution.

Hi

Have a next Question. I want to make a laser scan with texture. When i connect the rigil to the software via Hotspot, I cannot activate the texture mode. Its grey…

With the rigil directly i cannot activate use texture mode.

Does the software don’t support texture mode?

Hi there, at the moment, texture scanning is not supported on the PC software. This function will be added in the future update.
