I’m trying to scan the dash of my truck and because of the windshield I can’t get the top of that dash well.
I have the Einstar Vega.
I’m looking for suggestions or how I may be able to do it.
I’ve been using fast mode with markers, but because I’m in fast mode I have to be a certain distance away and can’t get the back and I can’t scan the dash through the windshield.
Is this something better to do in HD mode?
Is there a way to combine a fast scan and an HD scan?
the picture of what you want to scan/ are scanning
it would be perfect if you can send me both the picture of the dash of your truck and the screenshot of current scan
You can start by using Fast Mode to scan from different angles, leaving the parts you can’t reach due to the working distance. Then, switch to HD Mode to scan the remaining areas. Make sure there are shared markers in both scans. Once both scans are complete, you can align them in StarVision using Marker Alignment. Additionally, the DOF (Depth of Field) in Fast Mode can be adjusted to 650mm–350mm. I assume this adjustment would work in this situation as well.
Ya I tried changing the depth of field but wasn’t enough.
I run Linux so I Havnt got a computer to run star vision yet.
When you say shared markers, do they need to match the size between HD and Fast scan?
Yes, you need to use 6mm markers which supported by Fast and HD mode;
For this part, if StarVision is not available for you, you can use HD mode to do the scan, for this kind of size and materials, HD mode is a good choice.
Ok cool.
I ordered a new computer(not just for this software).
Since I don’t have access to the software yet. Is it somewhat straight forward to line up an HD and Fast scan?
