Step1: Calibration before scanning, it is necessary!
Step2: Add features if the object’s geometry is repetitive or not distinctive enough (e.g., sticky clay,).
Step3: Maintain Consistency, Scan at a steady speed and keep the best focus distance of scanner from the surface(Einstar is 400mm, Einstar Vega is 350-650mm in Fast mode; 150mm in HD mode) .
For Example: In industrial high-product applications, robotic arms are often used to ensure stable and consistent scanning for improved accuracy.
Other tips:
Use Markers for high accuracy, place random markers, ensure there are at least 4 markers within the scanner’s field of view, either on the object or nearby.
Use scanning spray powder on reflective or transparent surfaces to improve data quality, ensuring smoother tracking for better result.
For applications such as 3D printing, digital archiving, art, AR & VR, and basic reverse engineering, our scanner, combined with these techniques, can deliver optimal results.
For industries and metrology fields where accuracy is a top priority, we recommend SHINING3D’s industrial-grade scanner series, offering superior precision and accuracy, tested in precision laboratories accredited by CNAS and certified to ISO 17025 standards. We also recommend using professional 3D measurement software to process the data.
