Vega scan accuracy

I have scanned the front body of my car with markers and scan spray in a single scan and the accuracy is a fair bit off, the actual measurement is 1807mm. I have not chosen measuring points perfectly in line and I measured the actual distance with a tape measure but still the difference is going to be at least over 5mm off which is pretty big. Would I get better accuracy if I did scans of each half of the body and then marker aligned them so the volumetric accuracy is over a smaller distance for each scan?

Hi, scanman

Regarding your concern, it is true that manually selecting points cannot guarantee the precise selection of two endpoints, and this manual error will not be eliminated by splitting the project into multiple scans. However, we can confidently assure you that compared to tape measurements, the data obtained from EINSTAR VEGA is the more accurate option. We’ve received good feedback from other users:

We’ve compiled some tips to help improve scanning accuracy, and we hope you find them useful.
