Max number of cpu cores supported by exscan/dual cpu support.

I am looking to do highly detailed scans of my vehicles and run cfd on them. I have noticed that even partial scans take quite a while to compute(sometimes more than 2 hours) on my 12700h laptop with a 3060. I have been looking at building a dual epyc server to run the cfd and compute the meshes amd point clouds. Ive noticed that computing the point clouds is an all core load on both my 12700h and 6700k while it isnt using more than 30% of my gpu. Is there a max number of cores exScan can use? Additionally could i use 2 cpus in one system. Also is there an option to compute the point clouds on linux? Thank you for your time.

Hi, We will use as much CPU resource as possible when meshing and generate point cloud.

No Linux calculating option right now.

Could you please share with us the object size, the point distance you’ve chosen, and RAM? More than 2 hours is not normal, we want to check if there is any issue.

I have a dell g15 5520 with 64gb of ddr5 4800, a 12700h and a 3060 laptop gpu. The scan is the front half of my jeep comanche. The project folder is 24gb with the project1_dataCW.dat file being 16gb and the project1_data file being 5.86gb of that. It struggles to even load the scan, im trying right now and its using 58.7gbs of ram, 1gb of vram, 30% of the gpu and between 15 and 30% of the cpu, still stuck at 50% progress. My laptop doesnt support more ram unfortunately.

It just loaded after about 25 minutes. 8876 frames, 3.7 million points, 0.8mm point distance. Apparently this scan was only the front suspension.

Project loading 50% slow or stuck issue should be solved in the latest update, if you still facing the same issue, please submit a ticket to support

When was the last update released for exStar? It seems like its been over a year. I just replaced the thermal paste on my laptop and installed a gen 4 nvme. The cpu seems to clock faster now. Ill have to try loading it now and see how it performs.i installed the latest exStar version too even though i believe i was already on it before i did the fresh install.
