ExStar crashing while scanning

Hi all,

I’ve recently got an eGPU to increase laptop performance. Not scanned in a while and now it’s crashing while scanning and i lose control of the scanner buttons.

I’ve tried turning off Threaded Optimisation in Nvidia Control Panel – no change

I’ve uninstalled v1.2.2.1 and reinstalled v1.2.2.0 and performed a calibration - no change.

Checked for software updates – nothing available oddly – not sure where I got v1.2.2.1 from…

Laptop Specs

Dell XPS 15 (9520)

12th Gen Intel i7-12700H

64GB DDR5

OS Disk - 512GB M.2

Data Disk for scans – 4Tb M.2

Embedded NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4GB GDDR6 (disabled in Nvidia)

Windows 11 Pro

eGPU specs

Sonnet 750ex

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti

External 4K monitor

So switching back to the internal GPU, with new installs of drivers, reboots and reinstallation of Exstar with many reboots, it doesn’t detect the 3050 and won’t load the software!! Switching back to the eGPU and while it does detect, still crashes mid scan. Frustrating is an understatement.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I will now try without the eGPU to see if that works.
