With large objects, the device cannot generate the mesh properly, and I am experiencing similar problems in Geomagic Design X as well.

I bought an EinScan Rigil scanner, and naturally, to be able to work with it properly, I also purchased Geomagic Design X Pro Plus. Because of our work, I wanted a wireless system so we could scan large parts. However, as a manufacturer, I feel the producer/company has many shortcomings, and I believe the problems we are experiencing here are caused by these limitations.

When I scan with the scanner, a single job can take about 1 hour. During scanning, the battery automatically drops to around 50%. Then the scan stops halfway with a warning message saying something like “because you have filled 8000 …” (limit reached). I understand this once, but when it happens again and again, I end up with 17–20 separate scans/projects. I try to merge these scans, but when the data size is large, the merge/meshing process gets stuck at 1% for a very long time. Since this is a wireless device, after waiting like this for a long time, the scanner also freezes and then restarts.

Hi,
May I know the scanning setting and resolution you’ve chosen? With large objects, processing high resolution on device is not a good choice. Usually we don’t need that high resolution, it will take long time to complete the data quality indicator and using powerful laptop with higher RAM to generation point cloud and mesh is a better way for high efficiency if high resolution with large object is necessary for you.

Hello 3DINOVA,

Are you transfer the large data to the laptop/desktop for processing or are you trying to process all those files on the Rigil itself?
