Einstar Vega Drivers

Hello there!

I got my Einstar VEGA today, I used it a lot and I am happy until now.

I am facing one issue though, I cannot connect the device to my PC.

in device manager it shows up as a device called CDC NCM and it says driver not found, I re-installed Starvision and re-installed it again to be sure that if the driver is bundled in the software it would.

on my laptop I did try and it did recognize the device, but on my main PC it doesn’t, which I am actually using with the Einscan HX as well and works flawlessly.

I tried included cable, and even tried a usb 3.2 type A port just to be sure its not my motherboard or the cable. and still shows the same.

I am stuck at the moment and have no clue how to solve this, hopefully if I can get the driver, or if I can choose on the device to automatically be ready as a file storage device instead of it being recognized first then chose, that would even be better.

thanks!

Ok, a weird thing happened, I tried my other PC, I downloaded Starvision, once I launched it, I didn’t even log in, I just hit connect scanner, without the cable and on the VEGA it asked if I want it to be in file transfer mode which I did, and now I am downloading the scans here.

I dont understand why that was not happening on the other PC with even the cable plugged in. I am sure I am missing something

no response after submitting a ticket and no response here… maybe if I ask in reddit ill get help?

Having the same problem.
Cant connect to send files.
Makes its a pointless device.

Windows beeps when connected but nothing om vega screen for transfering and nothing in star vision

Thank you for your feedback. R&D team is working hard to reproduce the problem and will provide you with a solution as soon as possible.

It would be best practicse for an all in one device to be able to export to anything. For instance directly to a usb stick. This would be the ideal solution to be completely independent.

I really think it should have a way of exporting files using a different method, I didn’t expect it to be extremely closed up like this.

I can’t use the scanner as is, so I just boxed it and tucked it in the cabinet, until you guys either fix it or I can probably sell it later. very disappointed.

Don’t give up on it too soon. Me too I am really disapointed now because i expected much more, but i think and hope it will develop soon as the Hardware itself seems to be really good, stable and capable. The Soft- and Firmware side makes it useable and that thing is doable on the fly.
So: fingers crossed

Greets!

@binadhed @xile Please go to the “Inbound Rules” in the “Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security” settings and set the attribute of the items named starvision to “Allow”.
We will update the software, and this signature verification issue will be resolved in the next version. If you still cannot connect the device to the computer, please continue to provide feedback to us. Thank you for your support and purchase!

That is all set correctly. Mine only seems to work for file transfers when using a very short 5inch cable. Any other cable and it will not connect.
I even have a thunderbolt 4 cable i tried.

Thank you for you information! Have you tried the type-c cable which came along with your Vega package? Better to use the official USB cable to connect the VEGA to your PC frist.

This worked for me, thank you.

If possible in future builds, add a transfer speed indicator as now it does not show anything, also when importing multiple scans, it will not indicate a total transfer percentage, only current import, it would be nice to know how long I might wait, instead of waiting in front of the PC until its done.

Thanks again!

Included cable does not work for me.
It was the frist cable i tried.

Sorry to hear that.

:grinning:

this did not work to fix my issue. I will try and find shorter cables to try

i cant even use the cloud upload feature? When i upload it goes into a folder that is in chinese says (myspace) But when i go to the website it is not there. When i scan the qr code nothing loads.

I’ve tried 6 different cables of different lengths. none of them work :frowning:

Sorry for this trouble. The connection problem should not be caused by cable length.
Pls submit a ticket at https://support.einstar.com/support/tickets/new so our engineers can help you in time and provide remote support in real time.

did you get it working?

Only works with a short 6inch cable.

I have tried all the cables i have. Thunderbolt 4, usb4, standard usbC, cables for transfering video, different brands etc…
Only a stable connection on the short cable.

If i use a 1ft cable , 3ft or the included cable.
It might connect, but will disconnect in the middle of transfering.

Shining listed rhw Vega as wireless transfer to pc.
But guess we gotta wait on that.

Oh ok, I’ve tried that. Tried so many different cabes, two different PC’s. None work. Did that firewall thing with no luck. The cloud upload doesn’t even work. It just uploads and I have no idea where it uploads to
