I’m trying to create mesh files from some old scans and I get this error message:
“The imported project is a scan project created by a non-current version of the software, and the scan cannot be continued.”
I don’t want to continue the scan. I just want to create a mesh/stl of what I’ve already scanned. I don’t want all my old scans to be unusable. I cannot find any older version of 1.2 to be able to address this.
I see this issue in 1.2.2 version of software. The parts were scanned in August with whatever version was available then.
How about you download the 1.0.6 version instead? The projects scanned by older version is not compatible with the latest one
Needing to have an old version of the firmware to open up the file is ridiculous, especially since installing a different version removes all other versions from your computer. Imagine needing to have a different version of Microsoft word or photoshop based on what version a document was created on.
Needing to have different versions of the software is what created this problem in the first place.
The issue was that the scan was created on version 1.2.x. I opened it by accident using 1.0.6, which didn’t display anything. However, just attempting to open the file with 1.0.6 changes the project1.ir_E10_prj, which will make it incompatible with 1.2 once you try to open it on 1.2.
The fix is to copy the formatting from another 1.2 created project and copy that into the project1.ir_E10_prj file. Do not change your frames, points and triangles
